Periodic checks art.71 – work equipment
WORK EQUIPMENT: LIFTING EQUIPMENT AND PRESSURE EQUIPMENT – ART.71 D.Lgs 81/08
The Consolidated Law on the protection of health and safety in the workplace (Legislative Decree 81/2008) prescribes that the Employer of a company has the obligation (Article 71, paragraph 1) to make available to workers equipment that complies with the safety requirements referred to in Article 70 of the same decree, “suitable for health and safety purposes and adequate for the work to be carried out or adapted to such purposes which must be used in accordance with the legislative provisions for the transposition of EU Directives”.
Who can carry out periodic checks on work equipment
Periodic checks on work equipment, such as crane testing, platform and lifting equipment verification or pressure equipment overhead crane verification, are governed by Article 71 of Legislative Decree 81/08 and are the direct responsibility of employers who may contact not only Public Bodies (Inail/Asl) for the verification of their vehicles, but also qualified Private Entities
The list of machines subject to verification is contained in Annex VII of Legislative Decree no. 81/08.
Employer Obligations on Equipment Verification
The employer is responsible for checking the work equipment and must therefore:
1. Upon purchase, report the vehicle to INAIL through the appropriate CIVA portal for the issue of the serial number;
2. At the first deadline, request the first of the periodic checks through the CIVA portal
3. At subsequent deadlines, contact the Authorised Body directly
CR Inspection – in the process of qualifying for the execution of periodic checks on equipment and lifting equipment – is currently able to carry out the activity through its own inspectors operating for other authorized bodies.

Periodic checks of pressure equipment and lifting equipment
We have inspectors qualified to periodically check the equipment referred to in Annex VII of Legislative Decree 81/08 (GVR-SC-SP). We are able to support the customer in carrying out the non-destructive tests necessary for the checks and we support the customer in relations with the real inspection and supervisory bodies (INAIL-ASL-ARPA)
Checks on earthing systems DPR462/01
We carry out checks on earthing systems, both on low and medium voltage electrical systems. We carry out checks on lightning protection devices and electrical systems installed in places with a risk of explosion.
